![]() ![]() I did not feel sorry for her and do not view her as a victimized by Oakstar or Duskstar. Both Mapleshade and Appledusk were disloyal to their clans and he should’ve helped Mapleshade with the kits, but ultimately, it was Mapleshade’s doing that the kits died. She made bad decisions due to her selfishness and obsession with Appledusk, with whom wasn’t much of a prize. She should’ve known better then crossing Sunningrocks during a flood. She was not a good mother her kits need not have drowned in the river. Mapleshade really was delusional from the get go and psychopathic at the end of her life and afterlife. If she thought they would be safe, did she think they would swim because they were half RiverClan? No Way. ![]() Half yes is because kits need to be saved, even from another clan, or I can include loners, rouges, and kittypets. 1/2 not is because if she went swimming and she’d drowned like Birchface, Oakstar would want to kill Mapleshade, probaly. I half blame Frecklesomething and half not. If that happened to Dark-hearted cat named Darkstar, she probaly would have been very upset.ĥ. She did Not let Mapleshade see her dead kits be buried. THE ETHICS OF AMBIGUITY Simone de Beauvoir translated from the French by BERNARD FRECHTMAN Published by Citadel Press, A division of Lyle Stuart Inc. ![]() This is but one of many paradoxes of the human condition, all of which point to one glaring fact: Life is a messy, ambiguous thing. That is, every human is the main character of their own life, while simultaneously being a minor character in someone else’s: “Each has the incomparable taste in his mouth of his own life, and yet each feels himself more insignificant than an insect within the immense collectivity whose limits are one with the earth’s” (8). Beauvoir begins by asserting that paradox is embedded in the human condition in that human beings are simultaneously both subject and object. ![]() ![]() Dust jacket with light toning to spine, shallow chipping to spine ends, three closed tears, light soiling to rear panel.
